Requirements

If you are caught operating a motor vehicle with a child who is not properly restrained you can be fined, fines range from approx £40 ($75 USD) up to £500 ($940 USD)

Speed Limits
Speed limits in the UK are: Highways 112 km/h (70mph), Cities 48 km/h (30mph), major roads 65 km/h (40mph) up to 96 km/h (60mph), residential areas 35 km/h (20mph). Please pay attention to signs in the country you are traveling as speed limits may vary.

Rules of the Road

Required Coverage
Third party liability and fire insurance are required for rentals commencing in the UK and are included in all of Kemwel’s basic rental rates. Fire insurance provides unlimited coverage for the vehicle in the event of fire. Third party liability provides $359,000 USD up to an unlimited amount of coverage (depending on rental supplier) for damage to people or property outside of the vehicle.

Optional Coverage
Collision Damage waiver (CDW) and theft protection are included in our inclusive rental rates. When the CDW and Theft is purchased it releases the client from full financial responsibility in the event of a collision or theft. A majority of the suppliers that we work with in England have some form of a deductible the client is still responsible for that can range from $1050 USD up to $2250 USD depending on the rental supplier and car category.

Many rental suppliers offer a supplementary insurance locally called Super CDW for a cost of $13-$40 USD per day, this optional insurance will reduce the amount of the deductible to $0-$600 USD in most cases. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is available locally with most suppliers for about $6-$11 USD per day, this insurance will help cover death and disability expenses up to limited monetary about set by the rental supplier for the driver and passengers. If you are worried about theft of your personal belongings in the rental car then you may want to purchase what is called Personal Effects Coverage (PEC). Personal Effects Coverage is available locally with some rental supplies for about $6 USD per day, this form of insurance will cover items stolen from the vehicle up to an amount set by the local rental supplier.
