" The heating system of the first car we got worked for a few minutes and then stopped working for much longer, eventually it quit working altogether. We had my Mother's funeral to prepare for and attend and so we couldn't swap the car until 7th January. The replacement car was the same model (except it used petrol wheres the first was a diesel) and it worked fine. Also the left headlight on the first car did not work- that made driving at night less safe. Trying to reach an actual person to speak to at Europcar in order to arrange the swap was difficult, we'd go through various voice mail menus and end up with a phone that was not answered. I have rented at least 10 Europcars through you in the past ~4 years and this is the first time I received one with faults. Now my Mother has passed away I will be visiting England less often. But I hope you will consider why you consistently use Europcar and add my bad experience ti your statistics on them. "

But when I collected the car at Europcar Heathrow branch, the sales staff at Europcar is quite pushy to sell me the more expensive car ie Volvo SUV. " A car was not available when we arrived so the pick up process took more than one hour. The staff were friendly and gave us a slightly larger vehicle. The vehicle was excellent. The return process went quickly, but I am currently in a dispute regarding petrol charges. I returned the vehicle with a full tank. Nothing was said to the contrary during the return process. Thereafter, I received an invoice for 7 liters of petrol and a return document saying the fuel tank was only 7/8th full on return. Someone had forged my signature on the return document. Europcar is currently investigating. My overall rating of Europcar is dependent on how this matter is resolved. "

" There was one problem with this car that has occurred every time we have rented one and that is there is no instruction manual. Being as every make and model of car is different it is quite difficult to figure out what all the instruments are for and even where they are. We could not find how to open the petrol cap on the caree had and had to ask someone at the garage. It took them ages to figure it out too only to discover it was a tiny lever between the drivers seat and the door. This could be a definite hazard "
