" The only negatives regarding my experience with Hertz was the fact the Hertz counter person at Brussels airport would not accept my Apple credit card because it doesn't have the credit card number visible on the physical card. I offered to provide her with the card's number, which is stored on my iPhone, but she said that would not work, period. Fortunately, I had an old cc with raised numbers for her, otherwise, I would have been SOL. That's most likely not her responsibility, but it's a dumb policy if you ask me. Perhaps as compensation for the issue, she did give me a car that was one step up from the type I had rented. Another good thing was I only had to wait perhaps 5 minutes to speak with the Hertz person, compared to over an hour at Paris CDG last summer with a different company. Return was not as clear as I would have liked. When I arrived in the garage to return the car, there was a sign indicating Hertz was up one level, but pathway to the second level was a very hard left turn stuck in the corner of the garage. The first time through, I didn't see it, so ended up wandering through the garage and getting spit back out onto the road leaving the airport. Fortunately, there was a place to double back and go through again, and the second time I noticed the entry to the second level in the garage. All it would take to avoid this would be to add verbiage to the sign indicating more specifically where to go to get to the second level of the garage. "

" Kemwell saved the day. I had rented from rentalcars.com the day before and they cancelled my reservation without telling me. "
