South Africa Rental Car Insurance Information

General Information
When traveling to another country and renting or driving a vehicle it is always a good idea to learn about what types of insurance is necessary. In South Africa we offer basic and inclusive rental rates. In the event you decline CDW and theft insurance to take advantage of coverage provided by your credit card, please kindly contact the card issuer and learn the specifics of the coverage. In some cases the rental supplier will want to see a written statement from your credit card company proving CDW and theft coverage.

Required Coverage
For all rentals commencing in South Africa third party liability and fire insurance are required and included on of Kemwel’s basic rental rates. Fire insurance provides an unlimited amount of coverage to the rental vehicle in the event it is involved in a fire. Third party liability provides insurance coverage to people and property outside of the rental vehicle that may get damaged or injured by the rental vehicle.
