Icelandic and international talent plays throughout eight venues in downtown Reykjavik in this highlight of Iceland's music scene. After live performances each night, DJs take over to ensure that the party continues until dawn. International acts such as Bloc Party and local favorites such as Mugison and Ghostigital have headlined past festivals.

Each holiday season, 13 mischievous "Yule Lads" come to town. Each are named for a particular misfortune, such as Hurðaskellir the Door-Slammer. Before Christmas, they leave small gifts in good children's shoes, and potatoes for the bad children.
