Island Sailing Club Round the Island Yacht Race

One of the world's largest yacht races, the Round the Island Yacht Race sees over 2000 yachts run a 50 nautical mile course around the Isle of Wight competing for the Gold Roman Bowl. Beginning in Cowes, cruisers race westward and counter-clockwise around the island in what proves to be a fierce competition each year.
